Upgrade to Sitecore 9 Update 2 Installation (Sitecore XP 9.0.2)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sitecore 9 Update 2\u00a0<\/strong>Setup Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Windows 10 \/ Windows 8.1<\/li>\n
  2. Windows PowerShell Version 5.1 or later<\/li>\n
  3. MS SQL 2016 SP1 or later<\/li>\n
  4. MS SQL Management Studio<\/li>\n
  5. .NET 4.6.2 or later<\/li>\n
  6. Web Deploy 3.6<\/li>\n
  7. URL Rewrite 2.1<\/li>\n
  8. Solr 6.6.2<\/li>\n
  9. Java Runtime Environment<\/li>\n
  10. NSSM (Download nssm 2.24)<\/li>\n
  11. Sitecore License must have xDB enabled<\/li>\n
  12. Packages for XP Single (On-Premises Deployment)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note:\u00a0<\/strong> <\/span>Please verify all version before it gets started to setup<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Install Windows 10\/Windows 8.1<\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. Install Web Deploy 3.6<\/strong><\/li>\n
    3. Install Java Runtime Environment and Set JAVA_HOME.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      3.1. To setup JAVA_HOME, please follow below instruction after installing JRE\/JDK<\/p>\n

      3.1.1.\u00a0 Locate your JAVA Installation directory C:\\Program Files\\Java\\jre1.8.0_181<\/p>\n

      3.1.2.\u00a0 Search for \u201cAdvanced System Settings\u201d <\/em>in Windows 10\/8.1, Click on\u00a0\u201cView Advanced System Settings\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

      3.1.3. Click the \u201cEnvironment Variable\u201d <\/em>button in Advanced tab<\/p>\n

      3.1.4. Under System variables<\/strong> section, Click \u201cNew\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

      3.1.5. In the Variable Name <\/strong>field, enter either,<\/p>\n

      JAVA_HOME if you installed the JDK (Java Development Kit)<\/p>\n

      Or<\/p>\n

      JRE_HOME if you installed the JRE (Java Runtime Environment)<\/p>\n

      3.1.6. In the Variable value, <\/strong>enter your JDK or JRE path<\/p>\n

      3.1.7. Click \u201cOK\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/p>\n

      3.1.8. Open Command prompt in admin mode and verify JAVA_HOME using echo %JAVA_HOME%<\/p>\n

      Note:\u00a0<\/span> <\/strong>If you already set it up JAVA_HOME, skip this step<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Install MS SQL Server and MS SQL Management Studio if not installed yet<\/strong><\/li>\n
      2. Install .NET Framework if not installed yet<\/strong><\/li>\n
      3. Create new folder D:\\sc9_Update2_Install<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
      4. Install and setup Solr 6.6.2<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        7.1. Click here <\/a>to download Solr 6.6.2<\/p>\n

        7.2. Copy, paste and unzip Solr 6.6.2 folder in D:\\sc9_Update2_Install<\/strong><\/p>\n

        7.3. Open command prompt in Administrator mode<\/p>\n

        7.4. Start solr<\/p>\n

        7.4.1. Setup path to D:\\sc9_install\\solr-6.6.2\\bin<\/strong><\/p>\n

        7.4.2. Run \u201csolr start\u201d <\/strong>command, refer screenshot<\/em><\/p>\n

        \"\"<\/p>\n

        7.4.3.\u00a0 The default port for solr is 8983. You can change port by using\u00a0Solr start -p 8984<\/strong> (Now your solr instance will run on 8984). refer Screenshot<\/em><\/p>\n

        \"\"<\/p>\n

        7.4.4. Open a browser and navigate to http:\/\/localhost:8984<\/a><\/p>\n

        Note:<\/span> <\/strong>A another solr version running in 8983 port, so we are changed\u00a0to 8984 for solr, or else you can run your solr in default port as 8983<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Make Solr 6.6.2 run as Windows Service<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          8.1. Download and install NSSM<\/a> (Download nssm 2.24)<\/p>\n

          8.2. Copy, paste and unzip nssm-2.24 in D:\\sc9_Update2_Install<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

          8.3. Open Command prompt in admin mode and run the following command<\/p>\n

          8.3.1. Setup path to D:\\sc9_install\\solr-6.6.2\\bin<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

          8.3.2. Run \u201cnssm install Solr_6.6.2_Update2\u201d <\/strong>command and hit enter<\/p>\n

          8.3.3. You can see \u201cNSSM Service Installer<\/strong>\u201d popup,<\/p>\n

          Set \u201cPath\u201d <\/strong>to D:\\sc9_Update2_Install\\solr-6.6.2\\bin\\solr.cmd<\/p>\n

          Set \u201cStartup directory\u201d<\/strong> to D:\\sc9_Update2_Install\\solr-6.6.2\\bin<\/p>\n

          Set \u201cArguments\u201d<\/strong> to start -f -p 8984<\/p>\n

          Click on \u201cInstall Service\u201d<\/em> button, Now Solr service is installed<\/p>\n

          \"\"Restart <\/strong>solr service Solr_6.6.2_U2<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          1. Setup SSL for Solr_6.6.2_U2<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            9.1. Download solrssl.ps1<\/a> and paste it in D:\\sc9_Update2_Install<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

            9.2. Open Windows PowerShell in administrator mode<\/p>\n

            9.3. Run solrrssl.ps1, refer below screenshot<\/em><\/p>\n

            9.4. It will ask keytool file, get keytool from installed JRE bin folder (C:\\Program Files\\Java\\jre1.8.0_181\\bin\\keytool.exe) and hit enter<\/p>\n

            \"\"<\/p>\n

            Note:<\/span> <\/strong>If you get the error on running this script, please run following command Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope CurrentUser Unrestricted<\/p>\n

            9.5. Now open the folder D:\\sc9_Update2_Install<\/strong>, you can get two files<\/p>\n

            a) solr-ssl.keystore.<\/strong>jks\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0b) solr-ssl.keystore<\/strong><\/p>\n

            Copy both and paste it in D:\\sc9_Update2_Install\\solr-6.6.2\\server\\etc<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Open solr.in <\/strong>which in D:\\sc9_Update2_Install\\solr-6.6.2\\<\/strong>bin and uncomment following lines and save.<\/p>\n

            9.6. Open a browser and navigate to https:\/\/localhost:8984<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

            Note:<\/strong> <\/span>If Solr instance is not loaded at https, please restart Solr_6.6.2_U2 and try again<\/p>\n

            1. Install Sitecore Install Framework<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              10.1. Open Windows PowerShell in administrator mode<\/p>\n

              10.2. Run following commands one after another<\/p>\n

                \n
              1. a) Register-PSRepository -Name SitecoreGallery -SourceLocation https:\/\/sitecore.myget.org\/F\/sc-powershell\/api\/v2<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n
              2. b) Install-Module SitecoreInstallFramework<\/li>\n
              3. c) Update-Module SitecoreInstallFramework<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                  \n
                1. Enable Database Authentication<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  Execute following SQL query in SSMS and run in administrator mode.<\/p>\n

                  sp_configure ‘contained database authentication’, 1;<\/p>\n

                  GO<\/p>\n

                  RECONFIGURE;<\/p>\n

                  GO<\/p>\n

                  1. Download Packages for XP Single (On-Premises Deployment)<\/a> (Note: User must <\/strong>login into https:\/\/dev.sitecore.net\/<\/a> before downloading)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    12.1. Copy and paste \u201cSitecore 9.0.2 rev. 180604 (OnPrem)_single.scwdp\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>zip into D:\\sc9_Update2_Install <\/strong>and unzip it<\/p>\n

                    12.2. Now you can get three zip files, unzip\u00a0\u201cXP0 Configuration files 9.0.2 rev. 180604\u201d,<\/strong> copy and paste all files to D:\\sc9_Update2_Install<\/strong><\/p>\n

                    12.3. Open raw and copy\/paste sitecore-xp0.json<\/a> into D:\\sc9_Update2_Install\\sitecore-xp0.json (replace)<\/p>\n

                    12.4. Open raw and copy\/paste xconnect-xp0.json<\/a> into D:\\sc9_Update2_Install\\xconnect-xp0.json (replace)<\/p>\n

                    12.5. Copy and paste Sitecore license file (license.xml) to\u00a0D:\\sc9_Update2_Install<\/strong><\/p>\n

                    12.6. Download installation script sc9_install_customDir.ps1<\/a> and change the following parameters.<\/p>\n

                    1.$prefix<\/p>\n

                    2.$InstallDirectory (Note: this one is to specify your own install directory)<\/p>\n

                    3.$SqlServer<\/p>\n

                    4.$SqlAdminUser<\/p>\n

                    5.$SqlAdminPassword<\/p>\n

                    12.7. Open Windows PowerShell in Administrator mode and run sc9_install_customDir.ps1<\/p>\n

                    It will start installing Sitecore 9 Update 2, it will take time to complete.<\/p>\n

                    Once completed, navigate to http:\/\/{$prefix}.local<\/a> and http:\/\/{$prefix}.local<\/a>\/sitecore and login using admin\/b<\/p>\n
